2027 Honda HR-V: What’s New, What’s Changing, and What Stays the Same

The 2027 Honda HR-V is a carryover, and that is good news for shoppers.

The 2027 Honda HR-V is a carryover, and that is good news for shoppers. Honda made the big changes for 2026 (a larger 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, and a styling refresh), and the 2027 model keeps all of it, with a modest price increase and a higher destination charge. If you are coming from a 2025 or older HR-V, plenty has changed. If you are comparing a 2026 with a 2027, the two are nearly identical. This guide covers both.

What Is New on the 2027 HR-V

Honda’s 2027 announcement covers pricing and EPA ratings, and it does not list new features. The changes are the numbers: starting prices are up a bit from 2026 (the LX is $26,600, compared with a 2026 launch price of $26,200 and a later listing of $26,500), and the destination charge rose to $1,550 from $1,395 at the 2026 launch. All three trims and the available all-wheel drive carry over.

What Changed Since the 2025 and Earlier HR-V

Most of what feels new about the current HR-V debuted with the 2026 model year, and the 2027 carries it forward.

A Larger Touchscreen With Wireless Connectivity

The touchscreen grew by two inches to a 9-inch HD display, and it is standard on every trim. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard too, so your phone connects without a cable. A 7-inch digital instrument cluster sits behind the steering wheel.

A Wireless Phone Charger on Every Trim

A wireless phone charging pad is standard across the lineup, which pairs neatly with the wireless smartphone connection.

New 2027 Honda HR-V Sport in Urban Gray Pearl

Refreshed Styling

Honda updated the exterior and interior styling details for 2026. The LX added privacy rear glass, and the Sport added gloss black tailgate badging. Wheels were refreshed across the lineup: 17-inch Pewter Gray alloys on the LX, 18-inch Berlina Black alloys on the Sport, and larger machine-finished 18-inch wheels on the EX-L.

New 2027 Honda HR-V Sport in Boost Blue Pearl

New Paint Colors

The 2026 refresh added Solar Reflection Metallic (LX and EX-L) and Boost Blue Pearl, which Honda featured on the Sport.

What Stays the Same

Under the hood, the HR-V keeps its 2.0L four-cylinder, which makes 158 horsepower, paired with a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, and Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control is available on every trim for $1,500. There is no hybrid version of the HR-V (unlike the larger Civic and CR-V). Honda Sensing is standard on every trim, including collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic jam assist, and traffic sign recognition. The HR-V stays a five-seat subcompact SUV, about 179.8 inches long (easy to park), with 24.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Honda’s standard new-vehicle warranty coverage applies as usual.

2027 HR-V Trims: LX vs. Sport vs. EX-L

New 2027 Honda HR-V LX in Platinum White Pearl

The starting trim comes with the 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connection, the wireless charger, automatic climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, a four-speaker audio system, and the full Honda Sensing suite. Choose it if you want a well-equipped subcompact SUV at the lowest price.

HR-V Sport

The Sport adds heated front seats, remote engine start, Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic monitor, 18-inch gloss black wheels, and a six-speaker audio system. Choose it if you want the convenience features and a sportier look; it is where many HR-V shoppers land.

New 2027 Honda HR-V EX-L in Crystal Black Pearl

HR-V EX-L

The top trim adds leather-trimmed seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a one-touch power moonroof, front and rear parking sensors, and an eight-speaker audio system. Choose it if you want the most comfortable and premium HR-V.

2027 HR-V vs. Honda CR-V

The CR-V is the HR-V’s larger sibling, with more room inside and a hybrid option (the HR-V has none), and it costs more to start. The HR-V is the pick if you want the lower price, the easier parking, and a lot of standard tech and safety equipment for the money. Move up to the CR-V if you need extra space or want a hybrid. Browse the 2027 CR-V.

Should You Buy a 2026 or 2027 HR-V?

The two model years are nearly the same vehicle, with the same engine, the same screen, the same safety suite, and the same trims. That means price and availability should drive the decision. If a 2026 HR-V on our lot has a lower price or a better incentive (ask us what applies today), it gives you almost everything the 2027 does. Choose the 2027 if you want the newest model year or if the color and trim you want are only available that way. Either way, we will work through the numbers with you, with no pressure. We make it EASY!
